Tom from the Blackdog event got back to me this morning. They do provide GPX files for GPS tracking, but they prefer the roll charts because the GPX files don't contain any information about hazards and such to watch out for.

I heard about the Blackdog event in early June from Dan. Here's the link to their website:

They have a nice promo video to show what to expect. Looks like they use roll charts for navigation, not GPS. I'm going to email to confirm this.
