Subject: La Brea Closure Area Update
Good Afternoon,
The Los Padres National Forest is planning to extend the current Forest Closure Order for the La Brea fire area for one year, which is set to expire on August 19, 2020. The forest recently signed an Environmental Assessment to begin addressing
the fire and subsequent flooding in the area. The implementation for reopening the area will take some time and includes maintenance on roads and trails as well as decommissioning and developing recreation facilities and trails.
