TRAIL CLASSES

First Aid Classes

First Aid Classes provide good knowledge if you enjoy the outdoors and may have to perform first aid in remote areas for example on trail projects. First Aid certification is also required to become chainsaw certified and there is no charge to volunteers.

Stewards partner United Trail Maintainers of California is hosting two classes for First Aid and CPR for Forest Service volunteers. These are AHA classes taught by Martin Cohn, a contractor that UTMC hire every year. Stewards members who volunteer on the trails are welcome to take these classes.

  • The first class will be Sunday, January 26th at the Ojai Ranger Station 1190 E. Ojai Avenue, Ojai. 9am to approximately 2pm.
  • The second class will be held at the Mount Pinos Ranger Station, 34580 Lockwood Valley Road, Frazier Park on February 9th, 9am to approximately 2pm. These are American Heart Association classes.

Please contact Beth Pfeiler by CLICKING HERE or for more information and to register for a First Aid class

Chainsaw Class

There will be a chainsaw class mid February if you need to be renewed or certified please REGISTER HERE. You will need current First Aid to be able to take this Saw Class. Space is limited.

More Letters Needed to Stop Out of Control OHV Grant Audits

Only about 500 letters have been sent so far, but thousands of letters are needed. {FIRST_NAME|Trail Lover} if you have not already done so please take action now by clicking here and sending a letter urging your legislators to stop the out of control OHV audits.

There is no justification for any grant refunds. In fact trail groups like Stewards of the Sequoia, Stewards of the Sierra and Clovis 4x4 and others have provided  50% more work and 50% more volunteerism than agreed to in the OHV grant contracts. Without these trail maintenance groups many of your trails would be impassable, overgrown and closed.

CLICK HERE TO SEND A LETTER TO LEGISLATORS TO STOP THE OUT OF CONTROL OHV AUDITS

Please forward this email to other off roaders so they can take action to stop their OHV dollars being wasted on these out of control audits harming trail projects that benefit everyone..
